Flames

Usagi and Rei stick their tongues out at each other.

Though the majority of responses I've gotten to SMULC has been either praise or contructive criticism, like any site, even SMULC has to get it's share of flames. Amazingly enough, it went well over a year without getting any! But eventually those lower on the net food chain realized SMULC's existence and closed in for the flame. Some webmasters choose to ignore this, feeling that ignorance of the flamers is the best way to treat them. Then there are those, like myself, who ignore this good advice and mock the flamers back.

To the flamers - remember that part of the contact page that said I'd publicly mock you if you flamed me? That wasn't a bluff - I follow through on my threats. If you didn't want this to happen, then you shouldn't have bothered flaming in the first place. We'd both have a little more peace of mind.

Flame #1: What a Pointless Page!

This first flame was found in my guestbook almost immediately after my article at the Sailormoon Soapbox ran and I got that gigantic influx of traffic. Since our friend Kevin put the whole thing in public, then I get to share his site and all information he provided to the public entry. Word to the wise: if you want your info kept private, don't post it all in a public area. I am not encouraging flamebacks, but as flamers like to hit several sites at once, it should be quite easy to track Kevin's whereabouts from this info.

Comments: Dude, get a life. This is such a pointless page. I mean, let ppl think what they want 2 think. U shouldnt worry about being right, b/c 1/2 the stuff on here is either wrong or just your oppinion. But anyway, it's still a nice LOOKING site, and Sailor Moon rules!! lol

I don't put a gun to someone's head and force them to change their beliefs. If they wish to continue believing bad information, they're welcome to. But when I've taken the time to check my information and give sources, then I have every right to believe the information is correct. If something is actually wrong, then I'll fix it when I'm provided with a source of some kind. If you'd read the site more carefully, you'd notice how many people I've credited with correcting information. You've offered no proof but...your own opinion. In fact, you've offered nothing except proof you have no grasp of spelling, grammar, or logic. Enjoy the (dis)honor of being the first person featured on my flames page.

By the way, I also know about your alias Kiwi over at the Soapbox forums. You know, the one that got banned for trolling the Japanese forums? Oh, and don't lie about how you found the site - SMULC is not a part of any web ring. And since we know you like to hang around the Soapbox, this is a rather pathetic attempt to get back at the people who banned you.

Flame #2: u need sexy chiks

Another guestbook flame that came during the interim between updates.

Flame #3: The Not-So-Sweet Story of Natsuki Lynn

At no point, when I created SMULC back in 2002, did I EVER imagine I would get such a strange series of flames relating to this site. I suppose it was naive, but whatever. It all changed when I made some comments in my Common Legends sections about some bad information on the website Sweet Usagi. Since a few other webmasters I knew of had already had difficulty directly e-mailing her about her information and getting rebuffed, I just went ahead and added the bad information to my site. As you can see from looking at my site, I have never personally attacked Natsuki Lynn for her site or anything else for that matter.

Due to the number of flames, mostly from Natsuki Lynn, but also several from her livejournal fans, this actually gets its own subsection. I would like to point out that every flame here was thrown at me without my ever responding to them (or getting a chance to for that matter).
